Title: five for fighting/chantal
some friends won some tickets for the five for fighting concert and invited us~~twist my arm. not the concert part, but the get out of my house part! i did have to go onto itunes to see what they sang, but then i recognized them right away. in fact, 100 years is one of my favorite songs. we had a great cuban dinner, great conversation, and mojitos~~what more could you ask for! the concert was at a great cozy hall in milwaukee~~old and cool. the pabst theatre. don't serve pabst beer though . . . at least i don't think so, could be wrong though, pabst has been making a comeback. anyhow, what a crazy good concert. it was my first "adult" concert~~people sat in their seats, i didn't get beer slung on me, and i drank beer out of a bottle. don't get me wrong, i have loads of fun at summerfest concerts on bleachers with a plastic cup of beer~~always will. but this was different and really great. chantal kreviazuk opened for them, and omg!! honestly, omg!! she is a pianist and lyricist, and holy shamole, she was friggin awesome live!! and had fun convos with the audience between songs~~really normal. like she felt like someone you could for sure hang out with! then five for fighting we so good too~~i was so shocked. i would pay to see the whole combo again, and i wouldn't have said that before i went. "the riddle"~great song by five for fighting, and love love "surrounded" by chantal. download her stuff on itunes, it is really good, but sad to say, so so so much better in person. she really cranked it out and jammed on the piano, if you can jam on a piano . . .

Title: feel so much better
we just got home from a beautiful father's day out at the lake. got some boat time in and the kids had a blast. they all feel asleep on the way home . . . i was checking on my Nemo, and there are four little fishies swimming around. so happy that Nemo was not alone!

Title: Nemo still lives
God love Nemo~~he is a survivor. That little guy just hides under the rock. I have read that a pipe is good for the fish on the bottom of a pond because they can just swim into it for protection from the raccoons. I am going to give him a week or two, get our porch fixed, and then get some new buddies for him. We did buy the "Scarecrow" sprinkler, which works out well because my kids are scared of it, and I get nervous with the baby out by the pond. So . . . I guess fish are pretty smart. Oh, and check out my etsy favorite seller in my link directory. She makes the coolest reconstructed sweaters! Love love love them!

Title: Raccoons and Goldfish
Okay, I know I am supposed to be promoting my wares in this blog, but I do have to tell .. .so four years after we moved into our house, we finally cleaned up this pond we have off our patio. It's really cute, has a waterfall, and sounds pretty. I love the sound of running water. My husband was less than thrilled when I told him he had to clean it out because our pond guy was installing a new pump in three days. Now it is a pretty pond. So the pond guy was cool enough to bring us 6 fish. Three big ones, like mini coi probably, and three little ones. The kids had a blast watching them swim and zip around like crazy. . . two weeks later I go out to feed them one morning and no one comes to eat the food. Then, I notice a dead one on the patio~~so gross. One little fish survived by hiding under a rock and the poor guy won't come out. We had this really nice light put in for the night, were redoing the screen porch, so hello, free dinner for the raccoons. So of course, bleeding heart that i am, i think fish have feelings, and this poor survivor, we now call Nemo, is lonely, and scarred for life. So we go out an buy new fish~~and they are not cheap!! $30 on new ones, which i think is a lot for fish, but whatever. Gone the next day, oh, forgot to mention, $60 for the motion sensor scary sprinkler. Nemo survived again. Still under that rock, God love em. So, now that my head is screwed on, I am at war with the raccoons, hoping they will go away when they realize there is nothing to eat, and I will get Nemo some new friends in two weeks, and then the porch will be done and the raccoons won't get in.
However, my kids didn't give a hoot that the fish were eaten by raccoons . . . thought that was a little heartless!

Title: Baby Legs~~Who Knew?
My third child has really bad ezcema on her legs. She scratches them all the time. We do have prescription lotion, but if you miss a day, you can tell!! So I ordered three pairs of baby legs to keep her legs covered and hopefully help with her ezcema. I also think they are pretty darn funky and cute~~they will probably be great this winter for potty training too~~~just throw them on with a top and some undies while we are in the house. No pants to worry about . . . sometimes the accident happens while you are trying to get them off! I am hoping they work for my other daughter~~I thought they would be great to throw on at recess time under her uniform dress. We will see . . . keep ya updated!
